Validation Interview

What is a validation interview?

A validation interview ensures that the work you have submitted is genuine. Because NCRQ do not use exams or face-to-face tuition, we need to have some system to ensure that the person registered for the qualification is, in fact, the one that has completed the assignments.

The validation interview is an informal discussion that takes place over a webcam or video call after you have completed all elements of a qualification. You will be asked some simple questions about the course and your assignments to ensure that they are genuine. Do not worry – it does not form part of an assessment and has no bearing on your results. It should normally take less than 10 minutes.

The validation interview will take place at a time convenient to you, and you must have your approved photographic identification available for us to view remotely. You will need access to a webcam, tablet, or smart-phone for this process – but this could be borrowed from a friend or family if you do not have one.

Set up a Skype or FaceTime account

If you already have a Skype account, you will simply need to give your Skype ID or email address when booking your interview. Similarly if using an Apple device, you can provide us with your Apple ID or iPhone mobile number so we can call you.

Important: you will need to allow NCRQ to contact you. Skype users must add NCRQ Student Support01 and NCRQ Student Support02 to their contact list.

Ensure you have ID

You must have one of the photographic identification documents listed below. If you do not have one of these documents, please contact us and you will be asked to get a passport-sized photograph endorsed by your employer or a professional person.

  • A UK, EU, or other nationality passport
  • An EU or non-EU photocard driving licence
  • An EU national ID card
  • A police or armed services ID card

Documents that have expired may still be acceptable if the photograph is still a good likeness of you.

Book an appointment

Please see the calendar below to arrange a suitable time for your validation interview. Available times will be highlighted, so if you are unable to see any time slots please select a different week.

You are asked for a contact phone number which can be used to send a reminder prior to the interview, and we will call you on this number if we encounter any problems. Please ensure that you also include either your FaceTime ID or email, or your Skype email or ID when booking the appointment.

You will then be contacted at the appropriate date and time. Please ensure that you have a suitable smartphone, tablet or computer with you and that you are connected to a WiFi network – in some cases, FaceTime and Skype will not work over 3G or 4G data networks. For Skype, you will need to be either logged in to the correct webpage or have the app open. Also, ensure that you have your ID with you.
